Notifications
Yandex services use push notifications to send different helpful messages such as weather warnings, traffic data.
Enabling or disabling notifications
To enable notifications:

Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Under Notifications, tap Push notifications.
- Select the notifications you want to receive.
Problems with notifications
I don't receive notifications
To receive notifications, you need to allow them in your device settings and the app settings.
App settings

Go to (profile picture) → App settings.
- Under Notifications, tap Push notifications.
- Make sure all the necessary permissions are granted.
Device settings
- Open the device settings.
- Find and tap Yandex Start in the list of installed apps.
- Disable notifications.
Notifications arrive without sound
By default, notification sounds are off. You can enable them in your device settings.
Note
This feature is available on devices running Android 8.0 and later. Depending on the device, the path may differ.
- In the device settings, go to Apps and notifications → Notifications → Show all apps → Yandex Start.
- Select the type of notification, such as weather, and tap Notification.
- Repeat the action for all the types of notifications you need.
I disabled notifications but still receive them
Make sure that all notifications are disabled.
App settings
Make sure push notifications are disabled. Tap (profile picture) → App settings → Push notifications.
Device settings
- Open your device settings.
- In the app list, select Yandex Start.
- Make sure that Notifications are disabled.
The counter on the icon is distracting
Remove the counter from the app icon
- Open your device settings.
- In the app list, select Yandex Start.
- Make sure that Notifications are disabled.
Remove the counter from the bell
Mark all notifications on the bell icon as read.
