App passwords

If you store passwords from sites in Yandex Start, you can autofill them directly into the apps associated with those sites.

Warning

This feature is available on devices running Android 8.0 and later.

Enabling password autofilling

  1. Tap  (profile picture) → Passwords.

  2. Enter the master password to access the vault, if necessary.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Enable Autofill for logins and passwords in apps.

Autofilling a password

  1. Open the app and tap the username or password field.
  2. In the list of usernames for the app, select the one you need. If the list doesn't appear, tap Autofill using Yandex and choose the username from the list.
  3. If you created the master password, enter it to access the vault.
  4. Your username and password will be autofilled in the fields. Log in to the app.

Saving app password

If you first enabled autofill and then installed the app, the password for it won't be autofilled during authorization. To add a password from a new app to the vault:

  1. Open the app, and enter your username and password.
  2. Confirm adding the password to the vault.
  3. If you created the master password, enter it to access the vault.

After that, your username and password from the app will be autofilled during authorization.

Disabling password autofilling

  1. Tap  (profile picture) → Passwords.

  2. Enter the master password to access the vault, if necessary.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Disable Autofill for logins and passwords in apps.

Yandex will no longer autofill passwords to apps during authorization.
