Saving passwords
When you enter a password for the first time, the Yandex Start app asks if you want to save it. When you visit this site in the future, your saved password will be entered for you automatically.
Save password
To protect your data, create complex but easy-to-remember passwords or generate them. You can save passwords:
By default, Yandex Start saves the passwords you enter on sites. If you aren't happy with this, disable the Save password option that appears above the virtual keyboard when you type the password.
If you have created a master password, enter it. The master password is used in the encryption algorithm to reliably protect the password vault (because only you know the master password).
- Tap (profile picture) → Passwords.
- Enter the master password to access the vault, if necessary.
- Tap .
- Enter the website address, username, and password.
- Tap .
Password generator
A generated password is hard to guess because it consists of a random set of letters, numbers, and punctuation marks. You don’t need to memorize the password: the manager will automatically put it into the form, and you can view the password if necessary.
To generate a password:
- Tap in the input field.
- Above the virtual keyboard, tap the generated password (it appears automatically as soon as the app detects a registration or password change form).
The created password will be added to the vault. Strengthen the vault’s security with a master password.
Automatic password retrieval
Enter your username. As you type, usernames you have used to sign into the site will appear above the virtual keyboard. Select one of them to put the username and corresponding password into the authorization form.
If you have created a master password, you have to enter it after selecting or entering the username. The app will decrypt the site password and enter it into the form.
Switch usernames
To log in using a different name, put your cursor in the field where you enter your username. The app will show a list of your usernames above the virtual keyboard. Select the one you need.
