Reading books

You can read books in the Yandex Start app. Download a book, choose a convenient mode, and start reading.

Add a book to the library

To open the library:

1. Tap .

2. Tap Reader.

To add a book, use one of these methods:

• Tap . Choose the file on your device.

• In the upper-right corner, tap → Add book. Choose the file on your device.

The book will be added to Downloads.

Open

The book will open in a new tab.

Open the book in another reader app

1. To the right of the book name, tap .
2. Tap Share.
3. Select the app where you want to open the book.

Read

Tap the right edge of the screen to turn the page, and the left edge to return to the previous page.

To open settings, tap the center of the screen. The following actions are available in the settings:

: Close the book.
: Open the table of contents. Tap the title of the chapter to start reading it.
: Change the font size and margins. To change the font size, tap or . Adjust the text width on the screen by tapping one of the icons.
: Listen to the book.
: Switch to the dark theme. To switch back to the light theme, tap .
Downloads: Open the library.
Navigation slider: Jump to the page you need. At the bottom of the screen, drag the slider left or right.

Listening

You can also listen to books in the Yandex Start app. You can choose between a female or male voice. To listen to a book:

1. Open the book.
2. Tap the center of the screen.
3. Tap .

Use the bottom panel to adjust the playback settings as you listen:

: Pause.
: Resume.
: Skip 10 seconds back.
: Skip 10 seconds forward.
: Select the reading speed and voice. If the normal speed doesn't feel right, select fast or very fast reading. You can also select a female or male reader here.
: Turn off playback. To make the icon appear, first tap .

Sort

You can sort books:

1. In the upper-right corner, tap .
2. Select the sorting method:
   • Recent.
   • Download date.
   • Name.

Delete

1. Tap .

2. Select Reader.
3. To the right of the book name, tap .
4. Tap Delete.
