Installation and update

Technical requirements

The app is supported on devices with Android 8.0 or later.

Install the app

The Yandex Start app is free.

  • Download it from one of the official stores:

Update the app

The device's operating system automatically detects that the app has an update and installs it in the background. You can also update the Yandex Start app to the latest version manually:

  1. Open Google Play.
  2. In the top-right corner, tap your profile picture.
  3. Select Manage apps & device.
  4. Under Updates available, tap See details.
  5. Find Yandex Start in the list and tap Update.

Note

If Yandex Start isn't on the list or you see All apps are up to date, you have the latest version of the app installed.

Delete the app

Note

You can't delete an app which was installed by the device manufacturer.

  1. Find the Yandex Start app. The app icon will appear on the home screen or in the apps menu, depending on your specific device and Android version.
  2. Tap and hold the app icon.
  3. Tap Uninstall or .
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Make default browser

Note

Depending on the device and Android version, the path may differ.

  1. Open the device settings.
  2. Select Apps → Default apps.
  3. Tap Browser and choose Yandex Start.
