# Connection protection

If you open a site with an insecure HTTP connection in the app, the ![](../_assets/warning.png) icon will appear in the [SmartBox](https://yandex.kz/support/yandex-app-ios/en/app/search.md#search) in front of the site name. This is a warning that the site doesn't use [encryption](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTPS), so entering any personal data (passwords or bank card details) on the site is not recommended.

On such sites, hackers can:

- Intercept or replace your personal data and read your correspondence.
- Get your payment data (card number, cardholder's name, expiry date, and CVV2) and use it to steal money from your account.
