# Creating and paying for testing

To create a survey, log in using your Yandex account. If you don't have one, [register](https://yandex.com/support/passport/authorization/registration.html).

{% note info %}

The minimum and maximum order for one UX test is 100 surveys when choosing the **Yandex Surveys respondents** targeting option.

{% endnote %}

## Step 1. Create a task {#step-1}

1. Select a [template for UX testing](https://surveys.yandex.com/quicksurvey/?category=ux).

2. Click **Go to editing**.

3. Specify the scenario for the entire task. This is the result of completing every step. For example, add an item to the cart and place an order. This is a required field.

4. Upload images. A maximum of 5. Pay attention that you can upload images and mark off areas only in the desktop version. You can't do it in the mobile version.

    You can specify a task for each image: what exactly needs to be done on this screen. This is optional, but it will help the user navigate things faster.

    You can split the task into steps. For example:

    - Step 1. Select white sneakers.

    - Step 2. Add them to the cart.

    - Step 3. Go to the cart.

    - Step 4. Select the payment method.

    Hints should not be too obvious. Don't write “Click **Buy** at the bottom of the screen”. It's better to tell the user to “proceed to purchasing”. That way you can check whether it's clear to the users where they need to click to proceed to purchasing.

    Select the areas that the user must click on in order to get to the next step.

5. Confirm that the survey has been built correctly and proceed to payment.

    To do this:

    1. Activate the **Additional questions** option.

    2. Select for what you want to create additional questions:

        - Step: In the **Step 1** field click **+ Add question**. Additional questions will be displayed after clicking the right area on the image.

        - Scenario: Add questions to the **Scenario** field. Additional questions will be displayed in the end of the survey.

    3. Select a type of the question:

        - **Single-choice**: Text answers with the possibility of choosing only one answer.

        - **Multiple-choice**: Text answers with the possibility of choosing a few answers.

        - **Scale**: You can specify a range of zero to ten.

        - **Emojis**: An answer with emojis.

        - **Rating**: An answer with stars. You can specify a value from two to ten.

        - **Address**: A respondent may leave an address and you can find out their location.

        - **Number**: Use this type if a numerical answer is provided.

        - **Percent**: Use this type if an answer as a percentage is provided.

        - **Select date**: Use this type if an answer as a date is provided.

    4. Enter the text of the question and specify the answer.

    5. Turn on the **Required** option to make the question displayed in any case.

    6. Turn on the **Shuffle answers** option to make answers displayed at random.

    {% note info %}

    You can add up to ten additional questions.

    {% endnote %}

6. Confirm that the survey is made correctly and go to the targetings choosing.

## Step 2. Select targetings {#step-2}

### Yandex Surveys respondents {#surveys}

Go to the second step: **Survey settings and launch**. In the **Targetings** section, go to **Yandex Surveys respondents** to select the survey audience based on your criteria. There are three options:

#### Without targetings

: The survey is shown to 100 men and women of all ages across the country where the survey is launched.

#### Standard targetings

: Select the audience from Russia, Belarus or Kazakhstan.

    When selecting Russia you can set up the auduence using one of the parameters:

    - **By demographics**: Specify the city, gender, and age of your potential respondents.

    - **By interests**: Select one category of interest.

    - **By quotas**: Select **Gender** to specify the percentage ratio of respondents among men and women, **Age** to specify the percentage of different age groups, **Gender and age** to specify the percentage ratio of respondents among men and women of different ages.

    When selecting Belarus or Kazakhstan you can't set up the auduence using these parameters.

When you set up the survey audience, specify the number of respondents in the **Respondents** section. The maximum number is limited depending on your settings.

### Survey of an own base {#own-base}

In the **Targetings** section, select **My audience** if you plan to conduct the survey among your own audience. For example, you might want to post a survey on your website or send it out via email.

To configure a survey against your own respondents:

1. Select the survey language. Answer templates and the name of the **Next** button will be automatically translated into this language. Pay attention only the standard text will be automatically translated.

    If you changed the text of a button or templates, you need to translate it by yourself.

    If the chosen language has the other text direction, for example, as in Arabic, the text direction in the survey is automatically changed.

2. Select **Yandex Metrica tag**: this allows you to track the survey's conversion rate and analyze its audience. For example, use [UTM tags](../own_audience.md#utm).

3. If you want to forward the respondent to a certain page after they complete the survey, enter the URL in the **Completing the survey** box. This may be the website of the service mentioned in the survey, an online store, or the main page of your website.

4. If needed, enable the **Allow taking the survey multiple times** option.

5. Choose a method to send the survey:

    #|
    || **Link** | Copy the link to the survey from the interface and send it to your respondents.

    If you want to distribute the same survey across different channels and track where your respondents come from, add [UTM tags to the survey links](../own_audience.md#utm). ||
    || **Website** | Copy the code and post it in an iframe on your site. ||
    || **QR code** | Download the QR code in the `.png` or `.svg` format and send it to your respondents. Note if you turn on the **Allow taking the survey multiple times** option, the QR code is updated and you need download it again. ||
    |#

6. If necessary, [customize the survey appearance](../own_audience.md#branding).

We store survey data on servers in Russia in full accordance with Federal Law 152, "On Personal Data".

## Step 3. Pay for your survey {#step-3}

1. When the survey is ready, click **Run** and specify the email address for survey results.

2. Choose a payment method and make a payment.

    You can pay for each testing separately, or you can top up your wallet in advance and pay using the wallet balance.

    Using the wallet is convenient if you intend to run multiple tests:

    - When launching testing, you won't need to wait until the amount is credited to the account: with your wallet topped up in advance, you'll already have the required amount at the time of payment.

    - Using the wallet is easier and faster because you don't have to enter your payment details every time.
