# About Yandex Surveys

[Yandex Surveys](https://surveys.yandex.com/?utm_source=help&utm_medium=index) is a service where you can create a survey and poll a suitable audience. For example, you can survey user behavior, test a new product idea, or evaluate the name or design of a product.

The survey consists of four stages:

You create a survey and select the audience characteristics: gender, age, interests, or geographical location.


Each survey is moderated, so before creating it, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the [service requirements](https://yandex.kz/support/surveys/en/moderation.md). Moderation takes up to two business days.

Select the audience based on the chosen parameters using [Crypta](https://yandex.com/company/technologies/crypta) technology. The same technology is also used by Yandex Direct.

Surveys are shown on sites across the [Yandex Advertising Network](https://yandex.com/support2/partner/en/joining/). Their average daily audience is more than 50 million users. The sites of the Advertising Network include Yandex services.

Users take the survey on sites because they are interested in the topic. They are not rewarded for their responses.

Payment is required for all questionnaires where a user has responded to all the required questions.

If you are a respondent and want to do tasks for a reward, we recommend using [Y Tasks](https://tasks.yandex.com/).

You'll get the first results a few hours after the survey is launched, because statistics are updated as questionnaires are filled out.

The survey period depends on the audience settings and the number of questionnaires you ordered: the broader the audience and the fewer the number of questionnaires, the sooner your survey will complete. This usually takes one to five days after review.
