# Search bar
The search bar in the notification bar or on the device's lock screen provides quick access to Yandex Search. It may also contain various widgets, such as the weather or traffic data widgets.

## Add the search bar {#add}
1.
On the home screen, tap  **(profile picture)** → **App settings**.
1. In the **Notifications** section, tap **Search bar**.
1. Enable the necessary options:
- **Search bar**: To display the search bar in the notification bar.
- **Weather widget**, **Traffic widget**, or **Exchange rate widget**: To add a widget to the notification bar.
- **Search bar on lock screen**: To display the search bar on your smartphone lock screen.
## Remove the search bar {#del}
1.
On the home screen, tap  **(profile picture)** → **App settings**.
1. In the **Notifications** section, tap **Search bar**.
1. Disable the display of the search bar in the notification bar or on the lock screen.
## Why do I have two search bars? {#twostrings}
Besides the Yandex app, other apps have their own search bar too — for example, [Yandex Browser](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yandex.browser) and Yandex Maps. Because of that, multiple search bars may appear on the device.
You can disable the extra search bars in their app settings.
