Requirements for advertising materials and images

Text requirements

  • Maximum title length: 48 characters.

  • If you're legally required to include a warning in your ad, add it to the Disclaimer field. Maximum length is 60 characters, including spaces.

  • You can add a description to the pin. It will appear in the ad card when a user taps the pin. Description length: 260 characters max.

Note

The description will be displayed only in Yandex Maps 14.3 and above.

  • Maximum title length: 48 characters.

  • Main text length: 70–260 characters.

  • If you're required to include a warning in your ads, you can add it in the Disclaimer for the ad card field. Specify the terms and conditions of the promotion and other details in the main text field. You can enter up to 200 characters in the Disclaimer for the ad card field, including spaces. You can skip this field if your banner already includes a disclaimer.

  • Length of the ad card title: 48 characters max.

  • For the text displayed next to the billboard:

    • Title length: 15 characters max.

    • Description length: 25 characters max.

  • If you're legally required to include a warning in your ad, add it to the Disclaimer field. Maximum length is 200 characters, including spaces.

  • You can add a description for the billboard. It will appear in the ad card when the user taps the billboard. Maximum length is 260 characters.

Technical requirements

Pins in Geoservices
  • Image size: 200 × 200 pixels.

  • File size: up to 1 MB.

  • Format: PNG.

  • The background must be nontransparent and contrast with the image and text.

  • Without small text and details.

  • Leave some space (margins) around the edges of the background.

  • You can choose the border color from the options in the editor or specify it in HEX format.

  • File size: up to 1 MB.

Image requirements

Pins in Geoservices
Recommended image

The image has a size of 200 × 200 pixels. Make sure the entire image fits inside the circle.

Image is too large

Large images will be automatically cropped.

Image is too small

Small images are hard to read. Drivers won't understand what's depicted.

Make the best use of available space.

Object in the image should be clear

To encourage potential customers to tap the pin, use an image that is clear and easy to recognize. Use your company logo or show an object from a common angle.

Avoid patterns, collages, and groups of objects because they make the pin difficult to read.

Don't use images with text

The pin image is small, so make sure to place the text beside it.

Use an icon if your logo is blurry

If your company doesn't have a well-known logo, use an image that fits the context.

Use a color that contrasts with both the light and dark themes

Note that Yandex Navigator has day and night modes. The color of the text and the balloon that contains the text changes automatically when the mode is switched. The border color of the pin and the image within it don't change, so pick a color that will be clearly visible in both day and night modes.

Text should be simple and clear

Use the company name in the title, and the category, in the subtitle. Each should be no more than 16 characters.

If you don't want to use a category, you can enter the name of the shopping mall or store chain that sells the product you're advertising.

Write a text that's as simple and clear as possible. Use a title and subtitle if needed. The minimum font size is 46 pixels.

Don't use fonts that are hard to read, such as calligraphic, handwritten, or distorted.

Avoid using white or dark blue background for the banner, as it may blend with Yandex Navigator's light and dark themes. Instead of white, you can use a light gray background.

You can use white and dark blue for the background, as long as these colors occupy no more than one-third of the banner.

Don't use borders

You can't use a border on the banner.

Add a disclaimer to the card

There's a special field for the disclaimer, so you don't need to put it on the banner.

Write a clear text for the banner

If you use an image without text, add a simple and clear text to the card.

You can include a disclaimer in the image if the advertising law applies to your business and your campaign falls into two categories, such as new buildings with a mortgage. In this case, you can include one disclaimer when completing the Ad category field, and another one, directly in the banner image.

Make sure the text on your image is simple and clear so people understand what you're advertising. Add more information to the card.

Don't use an image that's too small

Size of the billboard image: 264 × 160 pixels.

Use all available space so that the object doesn't look small.

Use a logo or object that are easy to recognize

To encourage users to tap the billboard, make the image clear and easy to recognize. Use your company's logo or show an object from a common angle.

Pins in Geoservices

The banner shows the Visit button by default. You can enable only one additional action button: Go to site or Call.

Tapping Go to site redirects users to the link specified by the advertiser (in agreement with Yandex). The link can lead to a site, app, messenger, App Store, or Google Play.

  • You can add UTM tags.

  • You can't add a pixel.

  • URL length: 1000 characters max.

  • You can't use a link that redirects to another page (redirect). However, there are some exceptions such as links that redirect to:

    • A page on the same resource, such as from msk.site.ru to spb.site.ru.

    • The main mirror of the site.

    • To the same resource but with a different protocol, such as from http:// to https://.

    In these cases, redirection should happen no more than three times.

You can add only one phone number to the Call button.

Banners or Billboards in Geoservices
