Requirements for advertising materials and images

Text requirements

  • Length of the ad card title: 48 characters max.

  • For the text displayed next to the billboard:

    • Title length: 15 characters max.

    • Description length: 25 characters max.

  • If you're legally required to include a warning in your ad, add it to the Disclaimer field. Maximum length is 200 characters, including spaces.

  • You can add a description for the billboard. It will appear in the ad card when the user taps the billboard. Maximum length is 260 characters.

Technical requirements

  • Image size: 264 × 160 pixels.

  • Format: PNG.

  • File size: up to 1 MB.

  • Nontransparent background, no small text.

  • Leave some space (margins) around the edges of the background.

  • If your logo includes an image and text, we recommend using only the image.

  • File size: up to 1 MB.

  • Without small text and details.

  • If you're legally required to include a warning in your ad, add it to the Disclaimer field. Maximum text length is 200 characters, including spaces.

  • For the "Ad" label, the non-image space on the left: 16 pixels minimum. The "Ad" label will be added automatically.

Image requirements

Don't use an image that's too small

Size of the billboard image: 264 × 160 pixels.

Use all available space so that the object doesn't look small.

Use a logo or object that are easy to recognize

To encourage users to tap the billboard, make the image clear and easy to recognize. Use your company's logo or show an object from a common angle.

Avoid patterns, collages, and groups of objects because they make the billboard difficult to read.

Object in the image should be clear

If your company doesn't have a well-known logo, use an image of your product or service.

Use a sharp image

Don't use thin lines for outlines in your image. A solid image is better because it's easier to understand.

Don't use images with text

Opt for a high-quality and clear image instead of text.

Use a color that contrasts with both the light and dark themes

Note that Yandex Navigator has day and night modes. The outline color of the billboard and the image within it don't change, so pick a color that will be clearly visible in both day and night modes.

Object in the image should contrast with the background

The object in the image should contrast with the image's background, and the background should contrast with both light and dark themes of Yandex Navigator.

Don't use small text and avoid extra details

Write a text that's as simple and clear as possible. Use a title and subtitle if needed. The minimum font size is 46 pixels.

Use fonts that are easy to read

Don't use fonts that are hard to read, such as calligraphic, handwritten, or distorted.

Use a contrasting background

Avoid using white or dark blue background for the banner, as it may blend with Yandex Navigator's light and dark themes. Instead of white, you can use a light gray background.

You can use white and dark blue for the background, as long as these colors occupy no more than one-third of the banner.

Add a disclaimer to the card

There's a special field for the disclaimer, so you don't need to put it on the banner.

Don't use borders

You can't use a border on the banner.

Write a clear text for the banner

If you use an image without text, add a simple and clear text to the card.

Requirements for materials on action buttons

Tapping Go to site redirects users to the link specified by the advertiser (in agreement with Yandex). The link can lead to a site, app, messenger, App Store, or Google Play.

  • You can add UTM tags.

  • You can't add a pixel.

  • URL length: 1000 characters max.

  • You can't use a link that redirects to another page (redirect). However, there are some exceptions such as links that redirect to:

    • A page on the same resource, such as from msk.site.ru to spb.site.ru.

    • The main mirror of the site.

    • To the same resource but with a different protocol, such as from http:// to https://.

    In these cases, redirection should happen no more than three times.

For the Where button, you can select the organization's address. When advertising a chain, you can select all its branches or only some of them. The organization should be added to Yandex Business. Don't specify the addresses of your direct competitors, or your campaign won't pass moderation.

You can add only one phone number to the Call button.
