Social advertising

You can advertise charitable organizations and place other social ads in Yandex Geo Advertising.

These ads are labeled with a “Social ad” icon.

Social advertising refers to information aimed at achieving charitable and other socially beneficial goals, as well as protecting state interests.

An ad isn't considered social if its content doesn't clearly or unequivocally establish that it aims to achieve charitable and other socially beneficial goals, or to protect state interests.

Your ads and landing page must meet the social ad placement rules.

Ads must not contain threats, intimidation, vivid naturalistic or provocative imagery that evokes strong negative emotions. For example, appealing to pity, aggressively demanding money, or unfairly exploiting civic duty, conscience, or patriotism in a way that creates a negative impression of individuals who don't display these feelings, or display them insufficiently.

If a social ad names its sponsor, this mention must adhere to the requirements of the Russian Federal Law “On advertising”.

Make sure that the advertised website contains:

  • A description of the business of the advertised company or the purpose of the social campaign.
  • Details of the company (TIN or INN/KPP, OGRN, legal address, bank name, account number, correspondent account), company's contact information (actual address, email, phone number), and information about the company's executives and founders (full names).

Note

You can't place political ads. Ads inspiring people to show up to the polls (without mentioning politicians, political parties or associations) are considered social advertising and accepted only from election committees.

Advertisers must have specific documents, as required by the Russian Federal law “On Advertising” and Yandex placement policy.

When to submit documents

You can submit your documents anytime after sending your ads for moderation. If the only reason your ads weren't approved was missing documents, we will review all your ads again after we receive the documents. If your ads pass moderation, they will be approved for display. If any additional information is required, we will contact you.

Required documents
  • Title documents: certificate of state registration for the advertised organization, along with a reference to a regulatory legal act or other document related to the activities of the advertised organization (state or municipal body).
How do I submit documents?

Please send copies of your prepared documents to the Yandex Geo Advertising support team, including your campaign ID or order ID.

If there are any doubts during ad moderation, Yandex reserves the right to use various tools (social surveys, Yandex Tasks) and engage recognized experts in social advertising.
