# Smart camera

The _Smart camera_ is a camera in Yandex Browser for Mobile. It recognizes objects, tells you about them. It also recognizes text, translates it, and scans documents.


To turn on the Smart camera, open Yandex Browser and click ![](../_assets/scan1.png) in the [SmartBox](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-iphone/en/navigation/search.md#smartbox).




The Smart Camera can operate in several modes:

By default, the app always opens in **Search by photo** mode. To change the Smart Camera mode, swipe the screen right or left.

## Settings{#settings}

By default, the Smart Camera stores your image search history for 30 days from the date of the search.

You can clear the search history and disable its saving:

1. In the upper right corner, tap ![](../_assets/smart-camera-settings.png)&nbsp;→ **Search history**.

1. Tap ![](../_assets/smart-camera-search-settings.png) and select the necessary action:

    - **Clear entire history** — to delete the entire search history;

    - **Turn off history** — to disable history saving.
