# Text translation

You can use Yandex Browser for Mobile to translate text in a photo, ad, or road sign. To do this, point your camera at the text, and the translation will appear on top of the text in the original language.

Allow Yandex Browser to [access](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/install/permissions.md#camera) your camera and files in the device settings.

1. Open Yandex Browser and click ![](../_assets/scan1.png) in the [SmartBox](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/search.md#smartbox).

1. Select the **Translate** mode.

1. At the top, choose the source and target languages.

1. Point your camera at the text or choose an image with text from your device's gallery. Wait until Yandex Translate processes the text.


## Translation-related actions{#translate-option}

What actions you can perform with the translated text depends on the mode in which the translation has been performed.

- Live translation
  
  If you used the live translation mode (by pointing the camera at the text), you can:
  
  - Copy text.

  - Open text in Yandex Translate if the translation is incorrect or incomplete.
  
  To do this, tap ![](../_assets/translate.png) and select the desired action from the list.
  
- Image from your gallery
  
  If you have uploaded an image from your gallery, you can:
  
  - Change the language of the text and translation — select the language at the top of the screen.
  
  - ![](../_assets/smart-camera-translate.png) — open the text in Yandex Translate if the text is translated incorrectly or incompletely.
      
  - ![](../_assets/smart-camera-feedback.png) — rate the quality of the translation.
  
  - View the original text — tap **Show original**.
  
  - View the translation of a specific word or phrase. To do so, tap **Show original** and swipe over the word or phrase. You will see the translation, which can be copied or sent to a messenger.
  
  - ![](../_assets/smart-camera-turn.png) — rotate the uploaded image if it is incorrectly oriented.
