# Search by photo

Visual search is a convenient way to search for information. You don’t have to enter a search query: just point your camera at an object, and the system will return information about it.

For example:

- point the camera at an apple, and it will show its calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates;

- point the camera at a car, and you will learn its make, model, specifications, and configuration cost;

- point it at a plant, and the camera will tell you its name and where it grows.

Allow Yandex Browser to [access](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/install/permissions.md#camera) your camera and files in the device settings.

1. Open Yandex Browser and click ![](../_assets/scan1.png) in the [SmartBox](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/search.md#smartbox).

1. Point the camera at an object or select an image from your device’s gallery (tap the round icon with a thumbnail of the last photo in the bottom right corner). Yandex Browser will mark recognized objects with dots.

1. Tap on the dot marking a recognized object, and a window with tabs will appear:
    
    - **About the image** — shows information about the recognized object;
        
    - **Similar** — shows similar items. In the **Refine search** field, you can make the query more specific to expand the results.
    
    - **Sites** — links to pages with similar images.
