# Yandex Browser syncing between devices

You can't sync between different browsers, for example, Yandex Browser and Google Chrome.

_Syncing_ refers to the exchange of data between Yandex Browsers on your devices. For intermediate data storage, the Yandex server is used. The data is passed to it over a secure channel, while passwords are passed in an [encrypted](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/security/passwords-management.md) format. Data on the server is protected by the authorization system used on Yandex services. Syncing allows you to access data from all your devices and restore data if your device is lost or broken.
On mobile devices, Yandex Browser syncs both with itself and with the [Yandex](https://yandex.ru/yandexapp/?utm_source=support&utm_campaign=android) and [Yandex Start](https://mobile.yandex.ru/apps/android/start) apps.
## How syncing works {#whatis}
,Bookmarks, passwords, input forms, open tabs, cloud tab groups and history are synced by default.
After you enable syncing, data will be synced each time you change data that is stored on the server. For example: When you add a bookmark to your tablet, the browser sends it to the server and simultaneously downloads all of the changes that you made on other devices (starting from the time when the last synchronization was performed).
Syncing lets you:
- configure Yandex Browser the same way on all your devices;
- recover passwords, card information, tabs, and input forms even if your device breaks down;
- view [open tabs](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/tabs.md#tabs-devices), cloud [tab groups](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/tab-groups.md#create), and [bookmarks](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/bookmark.md#bookmarks-devices) on synced devices;
- use [form autofill](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/privacy/autofill.md) and [history](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-tablet/en/navigation/browsing-history.md) on synced devices.
You can [disable](#off) syncing or [change the list of data](#settings) you want to sync.
## Enable syncing {#on}
In order for syncing to work you have to:
- Yandex Browser is installed on all your devices (your computer, smartphone, tablet).
- Use the same [Yandex ID](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/authorization/registration.html) on all your devices.
To enable syncing:

Tap → .
1. Enter your username and password or select an account from the list.

If you aren't registered on Yandex, you can't enable syncing, because the server stores data in [Yandex ID](https://yandex.com/support/id/en/authorization/registration.html). To register, tap **Registration** and fill out the account data.

Tap **Log in**.
To access the list of synced data, tap → → **Syncing**.
## Change the list of data to sync {#settings}
1.
Tap → → **Syncing**. {#sync-4-3-pad}

Configure options so that you only sync the data you need.
## Disable syncing {#off}

Tap → → **Syncing**. {#sync-4-3-pad}

Click **Disable syncing**.
