# Permissions

Yandex Browser for Mobile requires access rights and permissions to function properly. Some of them are requested during installation, others when a certain function is launched.


## Access to notifications {#notifications}

Required to send reminders from [Yandex services](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-phone/en/personal-settings/notifications.md#yandex).

If during installation you refused to provide Yandex Browser with access to notifications, you can do it later:

1. Open your smartphone settings.
1. Tap **Notifications**&nbsp;→ **App settings**.
1. In the dropdown list, select **All apps**.
1. Enable the option for **Yandex Browser**.




## Access the camera {#camera}

Required for image search.

If you refused to give the browser access to the camera during installation, you can do it later:

1. Tap **Apps & notifications**&nbsp;→ **App permissions**&nbsp;→ **See all apps**.
1. In the app list, select Yandex Browser.
1. Tap **Permissions**.
1. Enable the **Camera** option.



## Location {#geo}

Your location is used in the following cases:

- Websites can show you the most relevant information (for example, the local weather or traffic info on a map).
- The [SmartBox](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-phone/en/navigation/search.md#smartbox) shows more accurate search suggestions, for example, about the weather.
- Settings show a list of search engines used in your region.
- The [Tableau](https://yandex.kz/support/browser-mobile-android-phone/en/personal-settings/tableau.md) displays a default collection of sites for your region.
