Manual status updates with automatic delivery enabled

About automatic status updates

Order and depot statuses change automatically if:

  1. The Automatic delivery detection option is enabled.

  2. The courier spends a certain amount of time within the order or depot radius (based on the Detection radius and Detection coefficient parameters).

  3. The courier's GPS tracker transmits location data correctly.

As a result, orders get automatically marked as Completed, and depots get marked as Visited. Importantly, couriers can't update the status themselves, as they can't use the Completed (in order cards) and Visited (in depot cards) buttons in the RouteQ app.

Reasons to allow manual status updates

If the GPS loses signal, status might not be updated even if the Automatic delivery detection option is enabled. To allow couriers to mark orders as Completed and depots as Visited, enable manual status updates in automatic delivery detection mode.

Configure manual status updates

To disable or enable this option, as well as to find out its status, write to the support service. The courier can use the new feature only after they restart the mobile app.

Whether depot and order statuses can be manually updated depends on the following:

  1. The value of the Automatic delivery detection option set for the company.

  2. Parameters allow_manual_order_detection and allow_manual_depot_detection in the depot and courier settings.

Parameter

Function

Parameter values

allow_manual_order_detection

Allows the courier to manually mark orders as Completed

  • false — manual status updates disabled.

  • true — manual status updates enabled.

allow_manual_depot_detection

Allows the courier to manually mark depots as Visited

If the allow_manual_order_detection parameter for a depot is set to true, status can be manually updated for all the orders on the route linked to that depot. Routes are usually linked to the depot a courier starts from.

To understand whether a courier can update statuses, check the combination of settings when automatic delivery is enabled and when it is disabled.

Check the combination of settings

The tables show the values of the parameters allow_manual_order_detection and allow_manual_depot_detection for a depot and for a courier. The same logic applies to both parameters.
